"Providing a service that many people say is the best part of their vacation has been our driving force! Since opening our doors in 2000, the Virgin Islands Ecotours family has been dedicated to supporting the environment while creating opportunities for the Virgin Islands community. As someone who has proudly called these islands home since 1982, I’m incredibly grateful for the talented (and growing!) team that has made our mission possible - many of whom are locals with marine science expertise and a shared passion for preserving our unique ecosystems. I’ve never been more excited about the future of Virgin Islands Ecotours as we continue to expand our impact, inspire guests, and deepen our commitment to this extraordinary place we call home."

Shan grew up on Tortola, enjoying the beach and sailing with her cousins. Her love for reading sharpened her attention to detail, a skill she now uses to keep Virgin Islands Ecotours running smoothly.

Growing up in the Virgin Islands, Kevin embraced the thrill of kayaking between St. Thomas and St. John as a favorite pastime, cultivating his deep connection to the islands. With seven years of guiding experience, he thrives on making one-on-one connections with guests, learning about their lives and creating unforgettable memories. One of his favorite moments was leading an SUP tour where guests competed to see who could balance on one foot the longest - an unexpectedly fun and laughter-filled adventure.
Kevin’s passion for the mangroves shines through in his tours, as he believes they are the cornerstone of the islands’ unique ecosystem. Known for his empathetic nature, he can sense when a guest is having a rough day and uses his warmth and humor to turn their experience around. For Kevin, guiding is more than a job - it’s a way to share the magic of his home and prove that exploring nature and learning can be as fun as it is enriching.

Dishon is one of our passionate tour guides at Virgin Islands Ecotours. Growing up in St. Kitts with a fisherman father, he was immersed in the marine world from an early age, learning to snorkel and developing a deep connection to the ocean. Now a marine biologist, he brings science to life on his tours, sharing fascinating insights - like how sea turtles’ bones have growth rings, much like trees, or how their heart rate slows to just four beats per minute underwater.
His favorite moments on tour are the unexpected wildlife encounters - sea turtles surfacing beside snorkelers, lobsters hiding in coral crevices, or an octopus shifting colors. Trained as a fisheries officer in St. Kitts, he is dedicated to protecting marine species and educating guests about conservation, including the impact of invasive species. Having spent time in St. Thomas with family before attending university there, he feels a strong sense of love and care for the island. Above all, he is passionate about showing guests that marine life isn’t dangerous, but rather beautiful and worth protecting.

Steve has been hiking for as long as he can remember. Originally from Colorado, he traded mountain trails for St. Croix’s lush rainforests eight years ago and hasn’t looked back. Leading hikes through lesser-traveled landscapes, he loves giving guests a fresh perspective on the island’s natural beauty. Whether it’s winding through dense greenery or spotting hidden wildlife, every tour is about creating a memorable experience.
Steve finds that younger guests often notice the smallest details - spotting land crabs and wildlife with a sense of wonder that makes the journey even more special. By the end of the hike, guests leave feeling both exhilarated and fulfilled. He cherishes the warm climate, friendly community, and laid-back island spirit of St. Croix. His goal is simple: to make each hike the best tour his guests have ever had, immersing them in the island’s peaceful green spaces and the quiet beauty of nature.
