Kayak or SUP Rental On Your Own
Kayaks & Stand Up Paddle Boards are available to rent by the half or full day from Virgin Islands Ecotours location at St. Thomas’ Mangrove Lagoon. Explore the winding waterways and clear lagoon of the Wildlife and Marine Sanctuary on your own.
The best parts of the Lagoon’s kayaking or paddling area is one square mile, so the most scenic spots are within 20 minutes of paddling in safe and protected waters with meandering alleyways of mangrove forests and clear shallow waters. After your adventure, you can enjoy a Caribbean Cocktail at our Bikinis Dockside Bar!
What to Bring for your half and full day rentals to explore the Lagoon:
- Sun Protection: hats, sunscreen, sun shirt, sunglasses
- Swim clothing
- Medicine, if necessary
- Shoes that can get wet
Included:
We provide a single or double kayak, bottled water, and paddles. If requested, we can offer paddling tips and techniques, and directions or suggestions of sites to see to help you get acquainted with the area.

Please note that we do not use fins in the mangrove lagoon as they can damage the delicate ecosystem.
