St. John’s Newest Dining Options 2021

For a relatively small island, St. John has always been a foodie’s paradise.

While the pandemic presented many challenges for us here (as it did everywhere else in the world), and we saw some changes to the restaurants we know and love, we’re grateful to be able to celebrate some new, incredible dining options that have come onto the scene.

If you have an upcoming trip planned to St. John, here is a list of some of our favorite new foodie stops in Love City.

In no particular order…

SHAMBLES

Adding a bright burst of color to Centerline Road, Shambles VI is a casual bar & grill. Perfect for your daytime bar crawl, you’ll find comforting pub food on their menu – pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, and more. Bonus: they even have vegan options available.

THE WINDMILL BAR

Sunset lovers – this will be your new favorite sundowner spot! The Windmill Bar is located at Neptune’s Lookout, boasting sweeping views of Hawksnest, Caneel, & St. Thomas. While this is more of a stop for drinks rather than food, we had to include it on the list as it’s quickly become a local favorite with live music, events, and more.

SHAIBU’S GARDEN OASIS

Looking for something more fresh and less fried? Shaibu specializes in fresh, local, and organic. It’s their mission to “provide St. John with access to affordable, natural, and nutritious food.” We love how this spot supports local farmers and uses eco-friendly, compostable to-go containers. Their menus change with availability, which keeps things interesting as well. You can find them in the heart of Cruz Bay.

THE ROTI KING

Roti is the perfect island street food, wouldn’t you agree? Hearty and portable, we love picking up these curried wonders for our trips to the beach and out boating. The Roti King is St. John’s newest food truck, serving up handmade roti, pate, and johnny cakes 6 days per week (closed on Sundays) in the Lunberyard.

18°64° THE RESTAURANT

Looking for a finer dining option for a decadent island night out? 18°64° is a seafood lover’s dream in Mongoose Junction. Featuring a raw bar, daily seafood specials, and creative drinks to complement the menu, this new spot feels romantic and tropical – the perfect addition to this iconic space.
